Please list your side effects from the PPIs - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

I was on Prilosec for 1 month with great heartburn relief but realized that I was having sore throat and swollen lymph nodes (rare side effect I hear) from it. I need to pick another one to try since I have some stomach and esophagus inflammation that needs to heal. I was wondering if people could list the side effects they encountered on any of the PPIs to help in my decision. I realize everyone is different but I still thought the info might help. Thanks

I can't believe no one has had any side effects?? Am I the only one?? Well it is day 4 without my Prilosec and my symptoms are starting to return. I really need to pick another to try!! Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried Aciphex, Protonix, Prevaced, or Nexium? Personally nexium made mine worse, protonix didn't phase it, aciphex did a real bad number and after nearly 8 months 24/7 of heartburn Prilosec took the burn away in 2 days, but yep sore throat was a side effect for me to. Nex gave it to me worse. My dr just put me on Prevaced Solutabs and they work fine also. My problem is once the burn is gone I tend to forget to tak the med. I haven't had any for over a week, so far so good. the minute I feel it I will jump on the bandwagon sore thorat or not til I get it under control again. I also take Zantac every day.

Nexium made mine worse too, and it's the same drug as Prilosec. Prevacid works great for me with no side effects.
