Ok, so for as long as I can remember, I have always felt like food is sitting in my throat after i eat. I also have chest pains in the middle of my chest, behind the breast bone. I have a diagnosis of asthma, and I'm just curious if i should see a dr. about the swallowing problem w/chest pain. Is this GERD? I'm just curious...

Sounds like GERD would be a good thing to look into.

Absolutely go see a GI doctor! Sounds like GERD but you want to get it diagnosed to make sure so that if it is you can check for any damage and start to manage it. By the way, GERD can sometimes cause and or exacerbate asthmatic symptoms. Let us know what the doc says.

thanks for your input, I'll be going to my school health center to see a dr on tuesday....no health insurance makes it hard to see a GI without a referal
