ok, had a bad week. started with a lump in my throat and found out it was a thyroid goiter, which I now know is not that big of a deal. Then I had an endoscope done yesterday and Dr. said esophgus has a lot of damage from acid reflux which has probably been going on for few years. He did take a biopsy but said I will be ok, just good we caught it now and need to make some changes. Ok, I was still kind of out of it then and don't remember that much but I meet with him in 2 weeks to go over the biopsy etc... I'm only 34 and worried about this which is not helping. Never thought I had acid reflux that bad. What are the chances of getting cancer from something like this, and if you do, is it hard or easy to cure? If its pre-cancerous, can it heal or am I doomed to get cancer sometime soon? This week it has been hurting in my chest and back (which never happened before) but I started on Protonix a week ago and that seems to be helping some. I do tend to worry too much, so I'm hoping with more info. I can relax some.
