Is this normal? It was really sore last night but not so much early this morning until about a half hour ago. Also, before the procedure I was burping like crazy, perhaps this strained something.
I had the endoscopy myself and I was not sore. I don't think you should be sore. You might want to get it checked it. But the burping could be due to air being pumped in to view inside the stomach, even though again I did not have any burping.
A lot of people with GERD have constant burping. Some people who take PPIs do burp a lot also due to the fact that you are reducing the stomach acid and this is reducing digestion. So these could be some of the reasons why you burp a lot.

Hi Mike
I had my first Scope about a month or so ago and I can tell you from my own experience? I was in HORRIBLE pain the next day... It was almost unbearable the stomach pain I experienced the day after. They say most people have no problem well I did and I know a few others who have also.. When the do the scope they pump air into your stomach and that could be part of your pain. My stomach was more screwed up than usual for about 4 days afterwards.. If it gets too bad though I would call your doc and ask them..
The soreness is gone now but I'm back to burping like crazy today! Dr. gave me donnatal (sp?) for the esophageal spasms, so I may take one an hour before dinner tonight. They make me feel kind of loopy, so I've just taken one yesterday and one the day before, even though the prescription is for 1 to 2 up to three times a day.
