Try a little Mylanta, maalox, or zertec or pepsid before you go to bed. I suffer from LPR (affecting the throat and voice box rather than the esophogus). I have taken nexium for about a year, 2x a day, with no problems, also combined it with over the counter stuff to give me relief. What really helped me though is to support my digestive system with improved diet, digestive enzymes, and probiotics. For the whole year that I was on the nexium, I did improve, but I was never completely symptom free. However with the addition of better diet, enzymes, and probiotics from the health food store, I am now completely symptom free and off the nexium. I stopped taking the nexuim in mid July after about 6 weeks of the natural remedies. I have felt fine ever since then. I hope that it will be lasting, but really don't know if it will.
