really bad pain!what is it? - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

hi im not sure if this is the right place to post but ill give it ago anyway.well this has happened a few times and it so painful.it starts off feeling like a dull ache in my chest then it starts really hurting and i mean badly.i had a kid and its worse than that.it takes ages to go away.i thought it might be indegestion but i dont burp or anything afterwards.it just dissappears when it wants to.after it stop i get this feeling in the middle of my back like theres a stone in there which cant move down.its kind of like when you eat an apple or something when you take a big mouthful and swallow it before its been chewed properly.you can feel that in your back.but this just stays.the after bit doesnt hurt but its uncomfortable.

when i was pregnant quite alot of the time it kept feeling like my throat was swelling up and getting tighter.it stayed for ages at a time and drinking water didnt help.im not sure if this is connected.

does anyone have a clue? i really need some advice!it really hurts.i feel like crying its that bad.itys scary.any advice would be helpful thanks!

keep in mind, everyboyd is different but sounds like Gerd. Talk to your Dr. about it. I have Gerd and get the pain in chest, also bottom left of rib cage and in my back. When really bad, it goes into my throat. I take Protonix 2x/day and even pepcid complete 2x/day which I think is working better than the Protonix. I'm just learning about this myself, but you should really talk to your Dr. about it. Hope that helps. You should also (just in case) rule out any heart problems. Most likely not a heart problem, but should always be rulled out just in case.

ok thankyou for the advice.i went to hospital once because it was that bad but there was nothing wrong with my heart or anything.they didnt even tell me what it could be!
