Need Some Opinions PLEASE - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

I've posted here before, but I wanted to list my symptoms and have someone tell me what they think about it all. I also want to know if there's someone who experiences these exact things too?

Mucus in throat (severe problems swallowing)
Voice "goes out", ends up being weak after talking for a few seconds
Throat hurts a lot
Problems breathing, a little pain when I try to breathe in deeply in my chest

i experience the first three symptoms but not the last symptom.

i have the first symptom and the last i can tell you the last symptom is from acid that you are breating into your airway and down into you lungs i have no clue what the first symptom is i just started with this on after i had the nissan fundo done

Hi there,

It sounds like your symptoms could very well be esophageal or laryngeal reflux. Tell your doctor what you suspect and ask for some sample medications. Specifically, ask for Nexium, and tell your doctor you want to take 2 doses a day for a week, because you think it may be laryngeal reflux. Laryngeal reflux (when the acid rises all the way up to the larynx and causes hoarseness, coughing and vocal problems) is ALWAYS treated with 2 doses of a proton pump inhibitor (Nexium or other) a day. GERD (Acid only rising partway up the esophagous causing heartburn) is typically treated with 1 dose a day.

I don't care what your doctor thinks - try this, if nothing else, to eliminate the possibility of reflux. Doctor's get huge volumes of free samples that cost nothing to them. They are happy to give them away.
