Hi all, I'm a 46 year old male and I was diagnosed with acid reflex in 1991 My doctor started me on ranitidine (one a night) That didn't help me so he told me to take 2 pills a night and that didn't help too much either. I moved to a new town and a new doctor he put my on protonix 40 mg once a day and I have to brag that medicine works wonder on me. I told my mother and aunt and both are taking it as well as my friend.
My question is I burp alot more so after eating but even when I'm not. I feel so bad when I'm talking to people I'm always burping. Not out loud but it's a burp. One other thing I get and it's hard to explain. It's like I'm burping up food but there is not food or teaste it will be a fast 3 or 4 times then I'm fine.
and I also get palpation or spasum in the middle of my chest and the old thing that will stop it at times is to cough. It's not painfull at all and it's only last about a few seconds. I don't know if thats my heart or acid reflex. And can anyone tell me whats the differents from acid reflex and gerd? And go you have any idea what all this means and what I should do? Oh yeah I had a flexoscopy (?) about three years ago. Thanks and Happy holidays
