| Darn Good Licorice

I have been a serious GERD sufferor for years and years without knowing what it was ...
it was so bad last summer I was in the hospital twice, once rushed to emerg because in all honesty i thought I was dieing. I take a once daily perscription that has taken the edge of for the most part, but my husband who is training to be a paramedic told me the other day about this licorice root extract. I bought some, skeptical but he IS learning a lot about the body and common ailments so I trusted him and you know, I have to say this stuff works (for me) much better then anything else I have tried for an instant (as in 5-10 minut) relief. It works better then any tums or anything at not just masking the problem for half an hour but it usually lastes for hours.
My husband said this stuff stimulates certain bacteria in the stomach that helps rebuild the stomach lining. What ever it does, it honestly has really helped! Another thing i find helpful is of course small frequent meals and every night before bed I have a green tea mixed with freash boiled ginger, I am hoping to switch from perscriptions to all natural ways of coping!
But I was really excited about the licorice, its good for me because i like black licorice, thats what it tastes like only MUCH stronger, but its pretty good (i cant chew it tho, I suck it, which produces a lot of saliva which also helps my stomach) The kind I have is a tablet called DGL made by enzymatic Therapy. Its 15$ can. for 100 tablets.
