| Re: Back pressure/pain and LPR
I have similar symptoms with chest pain that radiates to my back and down my arms, which is not cardiac related. m y whole situation started with just a lump feeling in my throat. i didnt get this amount of chest pain until i started the nexium 2 x day. i am going to give the nexium 2 more weeks as prescribed. From what i can tell for myself it seems as though the cause is esophageal spasm which can be caused by GERD however i have few other GERD symptoms. I have been taking Magnesium supplements recently to help relax the smooth muscle tissue in the esophagus and it seems to help some. Also i have read about peppermint oil helping with esophageal spasm. Ironically peppermint oil is not recommended for people with GERD.
In short i would consider trying the Magnesium and see if it helps. you can Google magnesium or peppermint oil and esophageal spasm to see if the symptoms sound like what you are experiencing. Let me know if u try it and if it helps.
