| Re: side effects of manometry n 24hr ph monitoring
Yes, it is fairly common. The esoph. gets annoyed at having been insulted and goes into either spasm or dysmotility (lack of or uncoordinated peristalsis). Should pass in a bit. If not, give the doc a call.
In the meantime go for soft foods (pudding, shakes, soup etc). In other words stuff that can slide down on its own. Watch out for temp extremes or semi-solid foods/regular food. It can get stuck and/or choke you. Especially if it goes down the wrong pipe. It may also be a side effect of the anesthetic slowly wearing off - it tends to take longer than you think.
Good luck - hope it turns out you are ok in the long wrong and have no serious diagnosis!
