I am feeling a little discouraged. I forgot to take my PPI yesterday evening, when I got home, and I woke up this morning with the air bubble in my throat again. I was hoping that this was gone for good. I just don't understand the point of these medicines. It seems that they just cover things up, instead of actually curing them.

It doesn't cure it; it only fights the major injurious symptom of acid reflux.

We need a medicine that will fix the sphincter, which is what is actually the problem. THAT would be a God-send. But there are none, except that nasty psycho-inducing drugs like Reglan are thought to maybe help close them up.
