Is it okay to take a ppi and a histimine recepotor at the same time, for example Prilosec OTC with Zantac?

Any insight would be appreciated--my battle goes on... LPR symptoms have taken a turn for the worse...4 mos of double dose nexium with marginal results, now taking 80-100mg mg of prilosec OTC daily and still cant's shake this awful taste in my mouth, breathing problems, post-nasal, bad breath, mild burning--anyway, y'all know the story all too well... thanks for listening.

There's been some discussion on this board about how an H-2 will counteract a PPI if taken at the same time. Yet my doctor feels it's fine to take the H2 at night, after a PPI dose (taken in the morning) has worn off by the evening.
