Re: Milk or dairy cause problems?

Nope. I am sure you have low stomach acid. Milke only causes problems in the inestine, so you would get gassy (fart). I have the same problems as you, so i take acid pills or shots of lemon juice with any fatty food (pop-tarts and milke have HUGE fat content) . Low acid causes this, I bet you get the same response with cheese or bacon and eggs.

Try a shot and post your results. Even after you get heartburn, try the shot and it will fix it. You can test your milk sensativity just by taking a lactose tablet after you drink your milke. But the pop-tart and milk have only 2 things in common: sugar and fat.

Smile Re: Milk or dairy cause problems?

For the person wondering about milk causing problems, and acid reflux, [removed]. Also, my son had problems with health issues like acne and other problems. Once he stopped drinking milk or eating dairy he not only felt better, but he commented that when he ate ice cream or other dairy, he noticed stomach problems. Try eliminating dairy for about one or two weeks and see what happens - but this means NO dairy products during that time. Hope this helps.

Re: Milk or dairy cause problems?

kade119 - milk, yogurt and ice cream cause horrible reflux for me. However, I can eat cheese without a problem. I've never heard of anyone else having problems with dairy like me. Good to know I'm not alone. I thought I possibly may be lactose intolerant but milk products don't cause gas or diarrhea, they only cause reflux while in my stomach. I can drink soy milk, yogurt and ice cream, though. =)

Re: Milk or dairy cause problems?

kade,

Milk and dairy are FAT. If anything fatty gives you acid reflux, the only cure is a shot of lemon juice or vinegar. Why do you think they put vinegar and oil together on salad dressing? Want to test my theory? next time you get acid reflux, try a shot of lemon juice and wait 10 minutes. If its WORSE, take a tums. IF its better then your cured. simple and cheap and I dont' make any money!
