I had my Endoscopy today, I was so nervous,Had the spay on the back of the throat,And down it went,Horrible feeling,But pleased I had it done,No problems down there,Except a bit sore.Dr said got to come back in 8 weeks,just to see how the pills are working,Anyway good luck to anyone having the same thing,Please tell me how you got on,I thought I was being a bit of a drama queen but I found the endoscopy really

Well done on having the spray, When I had a Endoscopy I had the spray it not nice ,but not as bad as you think it is going to be.

You said your stomach was a bit sore, do you have inflammation??

What tablets are you on!!

I had an endoscope about 2 weeks ago. I was not aware of anything -- nor did they use a spray. They just put a thing in the vein, the piece in my mouth that holds your mouth open for them, and then I was awake. That is one medical test I feared my whole life if I had to have, and it was easy. I didn't even have a sore throat afterwards either.

My doctor may now have to do the other tests that you have to stay awake, the tube goes down the nose, through the mouth, and measures the esophagus. That is the one that is really scaring me now.

But the endoscope for me was easy.

Hey Lady. I recently had that test. Its called an esophageal manometry test. The important thing is to try and relax the whole time. It can help to listen to the technician and try to slow your breathing. Also, my technician used a technique where you take small sips (I mean very small, larger ones didnt work) while she is working the tube down your throat. They numb your nostril so you will not feel much discomfort there. Just remember, this test will give your doctor important information. It told my doctor that I have a non-specific motility disorder and we are now trying other medication to help the muscles.
