Upset Stomach after eating - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

I get an upset stomach after eating. I have extra gas and do feel better after going to the bathroom (I dont go until I need to, I wont sit there and push). Even though I feel fine otherwise, I dont know what I should do. It has been happening for about a week and doesnt seem to be getting any worse or better. For the most part the feeling is on my left hand side right below my ribcage. I havent tried any anti acid medicine yet but plan on buying some tonight. Just wanted to get anyones thoughts or experiences on this. Is it possible its just a virus or does it seem like something alittle more serious. Thanks in advance.

Do you just have GAS pains from it, or other problems?

If you're just having gas, try anti-GAS medicines like Gas-X 1st, then maybe try the antacids if that doesn't help.

Also, if this is something unusual for you that's bothering you and going on for a week or more, I would see a doc. A virus shouldn't bother you more than a week, generally. Just to be sure. Just try the general practicioner because it's probably not worth wasting time for a gastroenterologist at this point.

I can relate to feeling sick after eating or drinking anything. I hope things are improving for you, Natedana. I have had my reflux worse since about 5 weeks ago. I am waiting to see a specialist in two weeks. I find the more I eat or drink the worse it gets.
