I have just been recently diagnosed with Gerd & I'm on Nexium 40 mg a day. I'm also being very careful what eat. Tonight I'm coughing & clearing my throat constantly & can taste the acid. I thought the Nexium stopped the acid- but it certainly doesn't feel like it!
I clear my throat a lil too but i try to forget about it cause it can become a habit which i dont wish to have.
As for your symptoms acting up at night, I personally take a nexium in the morning and a Zantac 45 mins before dinner which keeps everything bearable. According to my doc its fine, so you might want to consult yours
