can you develop ulcers/erosions on nexium? - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

i have been on 40 mg of nexium for 2 months. it has worked really well. until a few days ago i started having that pressure feeling in my center of chest where esophagus is. it was like i needed to burp bad. but it also burns. i know if you have ulcer it can cause the need to burp all the time. but i keep thinking"i am on nexium i should not be developing ulcers or erosions". does anyone know if you still can develop ulcers or erosions while on nexium?maybe i am not on high enough dose.

I took it for 4 weeks and was symptom free!!! Then, all of a sudden for no aparent reason since I changed my diet for the better and everything, I had WICKED WICKED pain, the WORST attack I have ever had. I stopped taking it and haven't had an attack yet, but think I still have acid problems. I never had the "scope" thing and just the barium test, so I may find a new doctor. I don't trust Nexium personally.

i am under alot of stress right now whcih am wondering if that is part of the reason of the flare up but i have been on the nexium for 2 months and felt so much better and the last 5 days or so the heart burn is back and that weird feeling in my chest is there. and i am thinking could i be getting an ulcer, or do i need stronger dose. just wondering. it kind of comes and goes. i have had to change diet to see if that makes it better and also quit eating at night too.

I think what you are experiencing is just part of GERD.. and I think stress triggers some of the symptoms.. Nexium helped me for a while (40 mg 2xs a day) and now I am on Zegerid and I think that is helping more, however, I still have that burning chest pain..
