Hi

I have been waiting to see my specialist now for awhile and I finally went today. I am booked to have a gastroscopy on Friday. I have now lost 30 pounds since mid January which is the good part because I am not able to eat half the time. I am not looking forward to the test but at least the dr will be able to see what is going on. I have reflux and he thinks I may have an infection due to alot of prednisone and inhalers for asthma.

I've been on prednisone and as a matter of fact, I just finished a course of it. Did he say why it would cause infection? I know it supresses your immune system, I was on it for allergy attacks.

Hi Alex

He said the reason I may have an infection in my esophogus is because of the prednisone making my immune system weaker. I had an infection that was found through a nose swab last month. I guess I will find out if I still have it after the test is done. I also had it 2 years ago.

WOW on a nose swab? I never had that done... you live in Canada right?
