Lately, (2 years now), I've been choking on my food. I've always been a slow eating, however, after choking numerous time in a row, I've become an even slower eater.
I feel like at time, that my tongue sort of "pushes" unchewed food down my throart, forcing me to swollow that. This leads to choking.
I have come to avoid steak all together, and pretty much anything of that nature.
Now, at work, its very stressful - I don't have a break and I'm always working. It's a family owned retail shop (answering phones, helping customers etc.) I don't have a break to eat, and me being such a slow eater, I am also not given the time to eat.
As a result, I'm sticking to mush food and types that don't require much chewing and allowing me to fill my stomach and eat quick...but, I feel I am not eating healthy
I stick to mash potato, cheeseburger, peanut butter sandwhich, sometimes apple sauce, maybe pizza, and stuff like this. Meatballs on occassion.
Any advice on finding what to eat, something soft and not so chewable, that I can manage to eat quick, and have it be healthy? Even a sandwhich takes a while!!
This problem came about suddenly, and it has just invaded my way of life. I've lost some weight, but not much. I just need to feel safe to eat again...I feel I'm going nuts here
