Hi alex, I take Nexium twice daily and Ranitide (Zantac) at night. Before my ph testing I was taking just the Zantac at night. I had the bitter taste a bit more than when taking both meds BUT- now that I am back on both the meds - burning and 'lumps' are terrible. I'm sort of foaming at the mouth (waterbrash?) and it doesn't taste so much like acid, BUT I can't stand the extra chest pain.
So Nexium seems to make the reflux a little less acidic, but causes worse heartburn - for me
