Prilosec stopped working?

Anyone's prilosec stopped working on them? I have the prescription strength, and around day 17 it seems to have stopped working. I'm to take it for a month and go back to doc if problems persist. I have burning in stomach, really bad anxiety which is driving me crazy, and I have a pain near my collar bone left side, which comes and goes. I want to quit "cold turkey", tried it yesterday, and felt bad as ever. I always feel like something's going to happen while I'm out in public, I feel like I'm always on the lookout for any symptom that comes on. It's ruining my social life!!!!!!!!

Anyone else ever had any bad feelings with Prilosec?

Re: Prilosec stopped working?

Stop taking the medication immediately - it will probably take a couple of days to wear off - and call your doctor. He can change you to another medication (there are lots of them and most are better than prilosec).

Thanks for the reply, I will stop taking it and let my doctor know what's happening.

Re: Prilosec stopped working?

Jake..the same thing happened to me with Prevacid. I thought I was on my way to a full recovery then about day 20 it all went down the drain. I quit taking it cold turkey and am doing better, my doctor just needs to find out what will help me now.
Good Luck and call your doc, there are other things you can try...
