Prednisone............I hope someone can help me with this - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

A few days ago I was stung by a bee and I had an allergic reaction that sent me to the ER. I have never had a reaction like this so I thought I better get it checked out. As it turns out it was a good thing I went because waiting much longer could have made it worse. Anyway the ER dr. prescribed Prednisone for 5 days but since I've started taking it I have had horrible indigestion which I didn't have before with the LPR!!!!!! I did a little research and found that Prednisone can cause increased stomach acid. I have a few more days to take it but I don't want this to get worse if this is what is causing it! Anyone ever have an experience with Prednisone? Would it hurt if I just stopped taking it?

do not ever just quit taking steroids, always call the doc, better yet the pharmacy, that is why you usually take a 7 day pack & the amount lessens each day, Im sure it is alittle different being on the week pack verses longer term, I have been on both & almost stopped on my own when I was on long term & doc. said good thing I did not because the consequenses could have been death or organ failure( I believe he said Kidney), of course I was on A high dose then, but learned a lesson take note of those little warnings on the bottles telling you to take as directed or do not discontinue without contacting your doc, I always ask the pharmacy now, just food for thought. You never know.
