| Chest Tightness
I have IBS, a hiatal hernia, acid reflux, gastritis and esophagitis. I have had every lung function test you can think of and all of them have been normal.
Suppossedly I am refluxing into my lungs which is causing my shortness of breath. I have had all the GI tests done and my sphincters from my throat to my stomach are not working like they should and are allowing the acid to reflux over my esophagus and splash onto my lungs. It is also hitting the nerves that run from my esophagus to my lungs.
Even on my best days my chest still feels a little heavy. However last night I made baked ravioli for the family and am regretting that decsion today. My chest/lungs feel like there is a tome sitting on top of them. I have called my GI's office and they told me that is normaly if I had worse than usual reflux.
I am on 10 ml of Carafate 4 X day and 40 mg of Nexium 1 X a day. Does anyone else know what can stop the reflux? Is there anything? I want to be able to breathe normally again. And does anyone else get this?
Thank you!!!
