I don't know what the correct answer is, but I like to workout before a meal. It usually makes me get fuller sooner and hence I eat less. Whenever I walk after eating it seems like it puts my bowels into overdrive and I have to stop and use the restroom.
Plus I have always heard that you may get muscle cramps if you exercise after eating, but that could be an old tale that my mom told me.
