Aloe Vera juice for acid reflux

Last year I went on this dare with some roommates. I had acid reflux real bad then, 7 different prescriptions and went through a big bottle of rolaids every month too. Anyhow, dare was to drink 2oz of Aloe Vera juice every day for 2 months with NO medication for my acid reflux. Took about a month, then I realized foods that I ate which normally would kill me, didnt. Tastes horrid, costs a lot, but well worth it. I now can just buy a roll of rolaids and have that last me a month Just thought I would spread da word

What type of Aloe Vera juice did you use? Does any kind, that you'd buy at a health food store or supermarket, work?

Re: Aloe Vera juice for acid reflux

I suppose there are better brands at health food stores but I bought a big jug at Wal-Mart. Says it's the pure stuff. I would just take a swig in the morn and since my smell and taste have been affected by reflux, it's not that bad for me. It hasn't cured me and in fact, I haven't been drinking it lately but I do think it helped. Especially for me since I suffer more with LPR. Seemed to have coated my vocal cords. I've tried the other things suggested at health food stores and some made me worse. Vinegar liked to have killed me! Couldn't talk for a month. I'd say Wal-Mart brand is just as good.

I tried it for a few days, one in the morning and one before bed time.
I think the juice create more acid in your stomach, kind of like orange juice.

Re: Aloe Vera juice for acid reflux

Some people are just so lucky to find simple sulutions to there reflux...while others struggle every day to get just a little relief !...I tried drinnking the aloe vera juice ( 8 oz a day for months,) plus DGL licorice, and 3 nexium a day...it did "Nothing ! I am going to look into the " Esophyx" procedure the next time I go to the Doctors...I had the Nissen...it did nothing either.... Good luck and God bless....
