Just caught some sort of bad chest cold making my acid worse - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

UGGG seems like I cant catch a break. This is my 3rd illness in 3 weeks and its making my acid reflux go crazy. Everyone else in my house has it seems like a viral brochitis. Does anyone know if its ok to take cough med or will that make the acid worse?

I find that when i am sick ANY type of cold medications or cough syrops make my acid MUCH WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even when it is the "time of the month" for me I cringe when I need to take an ALveve or Advil. Dr told me to stay away from those medications becasue I will get a flare up.....
