I have not been able to sing for a year or so, because of LPR~~~
Now I have been taking Nexium and I can almost sing with out pain
Not quite yet, but close!

Re: I can almost sing again!

So happy for you, *******. How did you accomplish that?

I try not to say too much as my voice sounds horrible over the PA. It's a good thing I am not a singer or I'd be out of a job. I would like to sound a little bit better, especially over the phone. I don't think about it much though because I have several more pressing issues to deal with and worry about. If you can give us some tips about how to improve our vocal cord function, they would be much appreciated!

thanks for sharing,
flowergirl

Re: I can almost sing again!

Flowergirl, I started taking the Nexium first thing in the AM, and waiting an hour or so to eat.
Then being VERY careful about WHAT I eat, noting spicy or acidic.
And after one month or so, on the Nexium I am finally better.
I forgot to take the Nexium for two days, and thought to myself I have a sore throat- and then realized I had missed two days.
This is my third time on Nexium in the last 4 years- I have tried to stop and I just get bad again
I don't have heartburn, I HAVE/HAD- sore throat , painful speaking and choking
Good luck---to all of you suffering, I relate.

Re: I can almost sing again!

You know I was just a singing yesterday morn. When the Red, Red Robin comes Bob Bob Bobing Along. LOL. My husband thought I'd totall lost if for sure but doesn't it feel so good to be NORMAL! OK. Feeling like singing anyway. LOL. You are doing great by taking your meds 30 min before breakfast and of course, the all dreaded word "diet." Meaning watching what you'r eating. Does make a big difference sometimes. I take my meds but don't wait long enough before eating. If you have been diagnosed with LPR, you may have to take another dose in the evening before dinner. Usually takes more meds and longer periods of time to get LPR under control.

Keep up the good work and follow the other rules and I hope you continue too feeling better. I have a very bad habit of getting to feel "too good" thinking I'm well and overdoing or not following the rules, skipping Nexium here and there and wake up and it's B A C K.

Great News! Kind I like to hear.

Charla
