How long to stay on this PPI before I try something else - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

Hi All,

I have been having reflux issues for the past couple of months. For the past two weeks I have been taking Prilosec with no real improvement.

Just wondering how long I should stay on this med before I try something else? Should I have seen some improvement by now?

Hi there! I am on prilosec too. I have been having problems for almost a month. It took 3 days for me to even feel a thing. And then it was like it was gone. I still have flare ups, but you should feel relief by 3 to 5 days or so. If you have gone beyond that and not notice much of a difference I would definately try something else. Thats just my opinion.
