| Endocinch? Has anyone had this procedure
I have been having acid reflux for two years now. It's gotten worse and worse despite all the things I've done to fix it. I am taking Protonix 2 pills in the morning and two at night as well as Ranitide before bed. I haven't had any alcohol or a soda in two years, I stay away from triggers-chocolate and tomatoes but I still have it. I lost weight, I went from 134 to 127 pounds-I really didn't need to lose weight but just in case I did that. I sleep on a wedge pillow on my left side, Yet nothing works. Yesterday I had fruit for breakfast by lunchtime I had horrible reflux-its not the fruit or whatever I eat its just constant, my mother has it really really bad as well, the same symptoms.
I started having problems with my breathing a few months ago. I started having excessive mucus and problems with asthma, I went to a pulmonologist and he told me it was from my acid reflux-isn't that crazy. I am also having problems with sinusitis because of the acid reflux as well. The worst part is the bad breath, my breath is constantly so bad becasue my mouth is so acidic. My throat hurts really bad as well, the last endoscopy I had showed an irregular z line, my doctor took biopsies because she thought I had Barrett's esophagus-that was scary and my throats hurts so bad all the time I want to fix this now before I develop it.
I am terrified of fundoplication because the horror stories I've heared, besides I am an actor and the scars could cause problems with my career-jobs I could book. I read that 70% of people who have fundo are back on acid reflux meds after 6 years anyway.
I've been studying Endocinch for a while now and it seems like a great alternative but I wanted to talk with anyone who has had the procedure or knows someone.
Please help.
