Re: Which is it?
I have a mucus problem too. I saw an ENT that specializes in LPR and she told me that the body produces this mucus in order to protect itself from the acid damage. Her advice was to stay on the PPI 20 mg twice per day and to drink lots and lots of water. The drinking will help thin out the mucus. She also recommended some speech therapy, because the initial damage to the vocal chords can cause you to unconsciouslly change the way you speak, further straining the chords and causing more irritation. I haven't pursued this route yet, as the therapy is quite expensive.
