My Mom - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

It started Dec. 16th, nausea, trapped gas, pain, burping, she's had endoscopy, showed hiatle hernia, which they weren't concerned about at all. Then the fun colon test, found nothing. Then swallowing the camera pill, it was fine. Now I'm afraid they're going to send her to surgeon, for gallbladder, which tested normal. She's lost several pounds, cause she's afraid to eat. She has so much stomach pain, she taking Loratab. She's been worried sick about what it might be, and they're all scratching their heads.

Any Clues?

i have hiatal hernia and have the exact same symptoms, i could not eat because just like your mom i was scared, i felt like there was a vlocano erupting in my stomach, i obviously would not put anything in it because i though i would make it worse.
i had lost some weight because of it, i was given nexium could not tolerate it it gave me flu like symptoms, made me vomit i stopped it immediately. went back to the doc and insisted he put me on losec, which he did, i feel so much better, i eat whatever i want
with no problems. she has to be prescribed something for the hiatal hernia.
it will allow her to eat again and take away her suffering.
