Lpr is good, but need endescope for stomach - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

hi
been a while since i last checked in.....my LPR after 7 months of PPI x2 day is fantastic yah!! but still having gastritis issues off and on...........burning and neasea...........so seeing my spec tomorro and asking for endescope to see whats going on down there!! however going to have to ask for him to not knock me out as i never no if im pregg from one month to another as we are trying and i dont want to risk the chance that i could be pregg and get the sedation whcih may hurt a llittle fetus!!!!!!!

anyone had endescope with no drugs sedation etc............imhoping that they will just spray my throat with the numbing stuff to stop me gagging......i thankfully dont gagg to easliy!! oh and i dont have h pylori as got rid of it

I had it done without sedation right before Christmas.

The doctor numbed my throat and used a pediatric scope (which is smaller than an adult scope) because it was a purely diagnostic procedure (the adult scopes allow the doctor to take a biopsy if necessary).

It was a piece of cake and I was able to watch the procedure on the video monitor.

Gastritis is an inflamation in the stomach, seen on an endoscopy exam. When you say you had gastritis off and on, do you mean several endoscope tests have show this or do u think you have off and on gastritis because of burning and nausea?

Another option would be to take an over the counter pregnancy test a week or two before endo, abstain during that time, and get the sedation. As i understand it, they are accurate enough.

no i havnt had endescope to see if i have gastritis im just going by symptoms and that i have removed h pylori, taken my deaseased gallbladder out (thank goodness. well reccommened if you have issues)..my spec also said that i wouldnt have gastroparesis as i dont vomit and have daily bowel movements with no constipation............so running out of things but gastirits which i have researhed and researhed and it fits!!! anyway my gastro who i saw today is doing endescope on 22 april and he siad its fine with no sedation and just throat spray...............so i guess i will see whats going on!!

Hi Nessie01,

I have to say I have been on PPI x 2 for almost a year now and the LPR is much better, but still have a lot of phlegm, do you still get phlegm in the throat.

But like you I have burning in the stomach how often do you get the stomach burning?
