Acid Reflux/ Freq. of burps - Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

I notice that I burp ALOT. I've been on a GERD diet for the past 2.5 months (Bran Flakes, Egg whites, bananas, apple sauce, white rice, chicken breast, etc.). I am currently on no meds, but about to start Nexium. I burp even when I havn't eaten anything. I only drink water, and now it's becoming like a natural rection to burp everytime I drink water. There is like an acid taste in my chest that goes up to my throat. An endoscopy in Dec. said I have mild GERD and a mildly incopetent L.E.S. I'm hoping this is only GERD and nothing else. (GB, and S.O.D. issues have thus far come up normal). The burps only hurt like 30-50% of the time, but the frequency of them is what is really bothering me. Any thoughts on this?

Years ago, prior to developing bad LPR/GERD, belching was my only reflux symptom. I actually ended up on my first PPI's when I couldn't get the belching under control.
