I know I need to destress but at the same time waiting for the results stresses me out. I am going to ask my therapist tomorrow on what she recommends for the worry. |
Well good news came on Tuesday. The doctor called and my biopsy results were ready. I don't have Barrett's. The spot that was damaged he saw so was very tiny and it tested negative for Barrett's and any other infections. I guess my panic in hearing that word after waking up from endoscopy sent me into a fit that I couldn't have anything else. The doctor believes it was from the Ibuprofen I was taking for headaches a while back, pill esophagitis. What a big relief.
He did say I still have reflux, but would like to see me ween off the omeprazole and see how I feel when I am off it. My husband expressed it to him that I still have reflux every day. Although not at the horrible pace I had two weeks back.
Everybody else and their mother, including my primary thinks its strange he would want me to go off it before I have even had a full couple of days without it. They all think I have given the omep long enough (5 1/2 weeks) and that I should switch to Nexium by now.
