Back burning between shoulder blades and burping a lot!
I have been having chest discomfort and an ache or burning in my back between my shoulder blades on and off for about 5 weeks now. The ache between my shoulder blades can really wear me down bad. It sucks all the energy out of me. I have had heartburn for months and months almost daily. I can burp a lot sometimes for hours. Also, discomfort in chest area which is usually relieved after a long long long burping spell. I had an upper GI about 30 years ago and was told I had a hiatal hernia. I am scheduled for a endoscopy soon, but, was curious if anyone else ever had the burning between shoulder blades with heartburn or acid reflux. Thanks!

I am currently having the exact same problem. It can terrible at times. Very painful

Yes - I too have GERD and Hiatal Hernia. I have pain alot between my shoulder blades. My G.I. doc says it has nothing to do with my issues; however, the back pain didn't start until the other issues started. I've also been to a cardiologist and they ruled out any heart problems. My primary care doc also doesn't seem to think these things are related. I don't know where to go with this...as the back pain is worse than the chest pain! I burp alot as well and am on nexium and zantac for GERD.

My back burns between the shoulder blades, also a pain in middle of back it varies also I have a lump in my throat.
I have a hiatus hernia
Has been there for 8 weeks, Have been diagnosed with acid reflux many years ago, but it has never been this bad.
Also can be sore when I swallow, not sticking though
Makes me feel really not well at times. also worrying
Hardly ever feel acid in my chest.
I am on 20mg omyprozole , have been for many years.
They are going to do a Gi again sometime.
