Good news is that ENT specialist had a look and he said its nothing serious ( as in cancer) he told me that it can be inflammation of oesophagus and given me medicine for next 5 weeks. which I have started taking. He further told me that it can be cause of Acid reflux.
Bad news is its more than a month i have inflamed taste buds on both sides of the tongue, i have been to dentist and he checked it twice and told me its nothing serious these lumps are inflamed taste buds. I have read on internet that they go after 2 weeks but its more than a month i have them .even the ENT specialist had a look and he confirm that its only inflamed taste buds .
Now they are RED and very very painful , i also got a white patch on my tongue .. if its a bacterial infection what should i do ? the dentist last month has given me antibiotics for a week but its of no help as the inflamed taste buds ( red colour) are still there on the sides of tongue.
as I also have Acid reflux so i am not so sure if it is cause of that.
many thanks to all of you for your support so far !
abs, that's great new. I am sure you have nothing to worry about because the ENT would have known and told you. I had a white patch on my tongue recently and red sore patches on the sides of the tongue. It went away by itself. Good luck!

thank you Aleksia , I still have pain in throat but just a bit relax that its nothing serious as he explained after having a look (nasal endoscopy)
but these lumps on sides of tongue are inflamed and painful . May be because of Acid reflux or inflammation of oesophagus . don't know what to use as i said its nearly 8 weeks now.
Hi abbs, So glad you have at last seen the ENT Dr and thank God it was not the big C...
The left side of my tongue is constantly sore and red and I have never known what it was. I even got a tooth sorted bacause I thought it was rubbing on it but it made no difference. Sometimes it has white spots on it as well.
"What we go through"!... Keep in touch and all the best, Solofelix.
P.S "What treatment were you given"...
abs, I, too had nasal endoscopy recently. I have been on Prilosec for about a month. I get those sore patches in my mouth quite frequently. They are either on the sides of my tongue or somewhere else in my mouth. They always go away by themselves and I have no idea why I am getting them. Maybe it is due to acid reflux, I don't know. One doctor diagnosed me with mouth fungus, but the ENT said that I don't have that. Keep posting to let us know how you are doing.
That is great news that you now are starting to get the help you need :-) I hope your treatment plan will begin to work and lessen your symptoms. Good luck to you!

Hi solo , yea kinda bit relieved that it was nothing serious according to him
they are a bit concern about the lumps on both sides of tongue but it might me because of the medicines or some allergy its now 6 weeks unfortunately i still have them and they are red and inflamed. May be i need another opinion from a different doctor. Its hard to eat when u cant swallow and tongue is like this .
I feel like my situation is more happening than any action movie nowadays

hi Aleksia ! well to be honest i don't mind having patches on my tongue
but its the lumps (taste buds inflammation) on both sides of tongue which really worries me , as i said its hard to swallow on top of it its even hard to eat !
It might me because of Fungus / thrush / some allergy i need something to put on my tongue definitely dont want any more antibiotics because its not good for the stomach at the end of the day.
I may visit GP to ask about my lumps on tongue ! the medicine ENT person has asked me to take medication for inflammation of oesophagus is Lansoprazole 30mg for 5 weeks .

Hi, abbs, I often wondered if these sore painful lumps were to do with Candida/Yeast as I also get them on the inner cheeks of my mouth. A week ago I started this Mouthwash called ELUDRIL and the white patches and sore areas have practically dissapeared of the inner cheeks and are no longer sore. The side of the tongue remains the same. I will continue with the MW and see how things go. Solofelix.

Yes worrywart I am taking NYSTAN ( tongue lumps and fungus infection) and Lansoprazole ( for GERD) . I will visit my dentist this week may be he will refer me to oral surgeon for further investigation.
I hope things get well ! how are you ? getting better ?
Hi abbs, Nystatin Oral Suspension is very good. It has sorted my mouth out every time and no side effects. Hope it works for you too. If it works and your mouth problems improve, I would follow up with the ELUDRIL mouthwash as I found it very helpful as well. All the best with your GP appointment tomorrow. Solofelix.
P.S Let us know how you get on!!
I am noticing a difference in how I feel, yes. I still have the click feeling/sound on the left side only of my throat when I swallow. It occurs more at night than in the day. But the mucus is not as bad, lump feeling in throat almost completely gone. I also don't feel the acid coming up as bad. So, I guess those are some good improvements. I still worry about that click feeling though, ya know? It is just so unbelievable what LPR and GERD can do to other parts of your body and the lasting problems that go on and on.. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that your treatment is being wel managed, seems you are making improvements!
Hi, worrywartmom, Pleased to hear things are showing some improvement with you.
Have you spoke with your DR about that clicking noise in your throat. Its strange but Ive had that same clicking in my ears when I swallow, had it for yrs. Of course ENT are all connected aren't they. I still have all my symptoms on and off, better today than yesterday. All the best, Solofelix.

I know solo, sometimes I have it in my ears instead, especially if they are feeling really full. I did not mention the click to the ENT since he did scope me and did not mention anything other than the inflammation, vocal cord damage, and all the fun stuff (yuck!) He did say something about one of my adenoids to the nurse and she marked it in my chart but he did not mention it to me. That has been buggin me and I should have asked him about it because that could be the problem.
Abs, just checkin in on you and seeing how things are going. Have those inflammed tastebuds on your tongue finally gone away? I hope so!
