White blood cells back to normal...

I had been getting nauseous and stomachaches every time after I ate. Well it lasted like a week and I used the bathroom at the end of like 7 days and had a lot of diarrhea and then I was fine for like a week. Then like a week later i woke up nauseous and that night I threw up a lot . Any way , i went to emergency and they discharged me with intractable vomiting and high white blood cell count. They said because my white blood cell count was high (15,000) there was for sure an infection. They told me to go to my real doctor and anyway 4 days later I went feeling a little better and they told me my white blood cell count was back to normal and that it most likely was just a stomach virus. Well anyway like 4 days later i still have very small appetite and still get little nauseous.
My main question is... the fact that my white blood cell count is back to normal.... should I worry?

Re: White blood cells back to normal...

15,000 is above normal, but not scary high. (Kind of like a fever of 100 degrees. You're definitely sick, but it's usually not serious.) A stomach bug or a minor infection could easily cause that.

With a bad stomach bug, it could take a while for you to recover fully. I remember once I had a virus that lasted about 12 hours, but my appetite didn't come back for a week! Keep eating small portions of easy to digest foods. If a week or two passes and you don't seem to be getting any better, go back to the doctor.
