Newbie here with a question

Just sitting at home when I should be at work. don't know when I will make it in as I can't trust what my body is going to do. I wake up sick to my stomach every day and end up spending a lot of time in the bathroom...intermitantly....

Just been diagnosed with GERD, Barretts esophagus, irritable bowel and diverticulosus. (please excuse spelling...is there a spell check here somewhere?)

My question : Does anyone else miss work because of this? I feel so guilty and I worry my coworkers will think I am just blowing off my responsibilities
.
