This may be long so be patient. I need help and expertise. Or maybe just help.
It all started suddenly. Woke up one day with an extremely sore throat and the sensation of a huge lump in my throat. Went to GP. Had been taking Symbacort so we thought it was that. He also though it could be thrush so gave me antibiotics. They didn't help. He sent me to an ENT who took one look with the scope and said I had "HORRIBLE" acid reflux. I had no clue. I had never experienced any kind of stomach issues; no heartburn; no acid indigestion, nothing. She prescribed Nexium. That didn't help. I could not eat and was losing weight. Not to mention the toll it took on my overall peace of mind. She sent me to a Gastroenterology Specialist who did an endoscopy. He diagnosed Barrett disease with strictures and prescribed Dexilant, 60mg and I have been on that for over a month. I sleep on a wedge which he prescribed. A CT scan was done and there were no reports of cancer or anything like that. I have had three meals of solid food in over 2-1/2 months and I'm obviously still losing weight. The feeling in my mouth/throat is different now than earlier. Sometimes it feels like it's my tongue causing the problems, like it's too big for my mouth. Sometimes it feels like it's the top of my throat. Sometimes my throat burns, not bad, but enough to make it uncomfortable. Most times I feel as if I have drainage from my sinuses but the ENT says it's not. It is very uncomfortable eating anything. Sometimes even drinking liquids bothers me. I feel that I have to swallow all the time but it never feels better when I do. I would really like to get my life back. I read that Calcium with Magnesium helps some people. Also, vitamin B-12. Does anybody know if this is true? Is there anything else I can do? My symptoms seem a little different from everyone else's and I don't know where to turn at this point.
If anyone took the time to read this, much less respond, I am very grateful for any insight.

I'm sorry I am new to all this myself,so I really don't have any advice! just wanted to say sorry u are going through all this and sure hope u feel better soon!!! and if u don't mind I will remember u in my prayers.{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}
Just wanted to let you know there IS someone out here in cyber world!
I am currently going thru the same thing for the first time. I also have been diagnosed with barretts along with a slew of other GI problems.
All the symptoms you have described are familiar including the constant drainage feeling. but minus the tongue problem. My GI doc said the drainage is caused from post nasal drip. I have never had this problem and I think it's related.
I was just diagnosed yesterday so I have absolutely no insight what-so-ever. Sorry I can't be more helpful and 'i hope you feel better soon.
I am so sorry you are dealing with all of this. I am suffering as well though no diagnosis of Barrets or that like but a mug of other problems. Severe GERD, IBS, Allergies, PND, LPR reflux now, excessive mucus build up, all that nice fun stuff. I also have this clicking in my throat only on one side when I swallow, not all the time though but at least noticeable a few times throughout hte day. Not many people posting here have that symptom so it worries me. I try not to have the anxiety because it definitely doesn't help, this alone causes your throat to constrict on itsself. So...... I understand and just want to let you know many others out here in cyber texting land understand as well. I hope you get to the bottom of your issues and get to feeling alot better, just remember it does take a good amount of time as these issues don't develop overnight :-)

Over a year ago I had esophagus spasms it felt like a heart attack. I have had heartburn as long as I can remember (20 years) Always taking OTC meds and couple prescriptions from doctors. Also a paralyzed stomach (ain't life great) BUT I just had my second scope and the Barrett's was gone - YES gone my doctor could't believe it. I always have this lump in my throat that I think you are talking about. You try to swallow because it feels like drainage but it doesn't go away. I can't take pills because they get stuck in that spot so I am taking a liquid compound OMEPRAZOLE. I am diligent about taking 10mg everyday and that is what I contribute my success to. I never changed my eating habits. I only lost weight during the spasms for a week but since my stomach is paralyzed anything i eat stays in me and I am gaining weight which is not good. Don't get discouraged I never thought it would go away.
