Question about GERD and stomach cancer?

Hi, I was diagnosed with GERD 4 years ago (with an upper GI). I was prescribed with medicine but since my lifestyle was very low stress, I have never had problems with the symptoms.

I am now in college and have undergone a lot of stress. I am nearing my menstrual cycle and this week I have had a really terrible time with GERD. I have a bloated stomach, burning throat, and heartburn. Throughout the year, the heartburn has been present but not as noticeable as it is right now.

I talked to my doctor today and he said I do not have chronic GERD (since it's episodic) and gave me some nexium. I am trying to not rely on drugs and have been drinking honey and aloe juice, which help.

I was wondering whether this episode of GERD attack can be caused by my menstrual cycle (I'm also getting a lot of cramps)? I've read that many other women have this as well. Lastly, I know that the H. pylori bacteria can cause stomach cancer, but what about GERD? Thanks for your input. I am not going to stress about this, and I hope everyone is going to feel better soon.
