PPI's and food

Since PPI's block most of the stomach acid are there foods that will cause me more digestive upset due to the lack of stomach acid? Is there anything I should avoid? or anything I should eat more of?

I currently take Nexium

Re: PPI's and food

The proper reflux diet, with or without medication, seems to vary a lot from one person to the next. Most people who take PPIs can eat almost anything and feel ok. Of course, we're the exceptions. .

However, high-fat foods seem to fall on almost everyone's bad list. Eating fat stimulates more acid production and more bile production.

Okay great. Just wondering what foods depend on stomach acid for digestion the most. So must be the foods that typically stimulate acid production like you said. I am really trying to eat super healthy and I am cutting wheat and gluten.
