Taking Antacids Daily
Recently I have heard that taking antacids on a daily basis such as a supplement to a PPI is not a good idea as it can cause acid rebound and the production of more stomach acid. What has been your experience? I take one at bedtime and have not had a problem.

Hi, I don't take PPIs as I didn't want to become addicted to them even tho I have AR/GERD.
At my Hospital review this week my GI Dr told me I can take PPIs and Gaviscon which is an OTC Antacid also. Not both together but in between. He said this would cause no adverse reaction. I have read of others who do the same and have no worse symptoms.
