Gastric pacemaker and gastroparesis

H
Hi
I have been diagnosed with Gastroparesis for a few years now and I am finally having a gastric pacemaker fitted on the 19th July. I have been waiting so long for this but now it's here I'm as scared as he'll of having the op. I am onlots of meds including fentynal patches and oramorph. I have been told by my local Dr that it maybe more difficult with the anesthetic because of the fentynal. I need some help. Do I ask my dr to reduce my dosage of fentynal I am on 50mg/hour patches. Or do I stay on the dosage I am on and see if they can adjust the anesthetic? I have called the hospital to ask and they said to speak to your local Dr. I would be very grateful for any advice. Also if I refuse the fentynal can I take codien phosphate as well to cope with the pain. Sorry it's all a muddle that's what a morphine addled brain gets you.
Hope someone has some ideas thanks

Sue xx
