Difference between acid reflux and sinus infection?

Does anyone know the difference between a sinus infection and acid reflux drainage and mucus??

I am trying to save a doctor appt bill if possible. Has anyone had reflux that seemed like a sinus infection. I have thick mucus in the back of my throat and nose. It is white and not a funky color. I am wondering if I just have a flare up of silent reflux. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, I've had that as acid reflux.

Re: Difference between acid reflux and sinus infection?

How long should I be on the Prevacid before maybe the sinus mucus will go away? I am really hoping this will clear up and not be a sinus infection. Thanks for answering me

Re: Difference between acid reflux and sinus infection?

I have had trouble telling the difference between sinus drainage and reflux. I asked my doctor about it and he completed the question before I got it all said. I know that he had heard the question many times and he did not have an answer.

TEdds83 - The Prevacid is to slow the production of stomach acid and probably will have no effect on your sinus drainage. An antihistamine will slow your sinus drainage.
