Nexium is one choice in the acid reducing PPI's. In my opinion, PPI's work differently for each person. What works best for one might not work well for another. You can find the official side effects if you do an internet search. Based on my years on this board, it seems that the worst side effects are typically digestive or the fact that the PPI just doesn't work for someone.
I've been on all of the PPI's on the market over recent years. For me, the Nexium was the only one that I had side effects with. I had some pretty severe diarrhea. I was on the extreme side for my symptoms though. From what I gather, most people don't experience any side effects.
