Help!! Mouth, Tongue, Throat, Ear and chest pain.

Please help... I'm a young 40yr old female with 3 kids and I feel like I'm falling apart. Dr. thinks this is GERD - treating with Dexilant, PPI. In a nutshell - approx. one year ago I started having occasional tongue soreness - almost a burned feeling. Over time this has gotten worse, really, really painful. No visible sores, tongue looks normal, but definitely sore and now entire mouth pain, soreness. Approximately 2 months ago I started feeling "sick", chest tightening, sore throat, etc.. thought I was getting a cold, but this feeling hasn't gone away and is getting worse. Symptoms now include the tongue/mouth pain, sore throat (feels bruised) hoarseness when tired, ear fullness/pain, headache and a sense of feeling short of breath. I'm also so, so tired... My history includes: gastro issues including a hiatal hernia and schatzky's ring which was found and stretched durning endoscopy a couple of years ago. Dr. thinks my current symptoms are related to GERD and has me trying the PPI. Perhaps this has helped a tiny bit, but not really. Any other ideas, coping strategies? New to this site, but desperate for some help. Thanks

That could be GERD, especially since you have a history. And it takes a few weeks for the PPI to start working.

If it doesn't work, there are other options. Small meals and elevating the head of the bed help a lot for some people. Dietary changes are also good. Medicines like Carafate or domperidone can help the digestive system work.

For me, none of the medicines worked, so I wound up having surgery to repair my hiatal hernia. Helped quite a bit!

Re: Help!! Mouth, Tongue, Throat, Ear and chest pain.

Hi,
The sore tongue and mouth is a pain (literally).
I have this problem and found that rinsing my mouth with a mouthwash called "ELUDRIL" has helped a lot and is also great for Candida which can also cause sore mouth and tongue.
I found it difficult to find this product and finally found it online (Not able to advertice) sorry!!...
It is the best product I have found for sore mouth/tongue and it works well.

Solofelix.
