At my last appointment, a doctor, not my regular doctor gave me the 2 month prescription for Nexium. She said if it's not cleared up by then, they'll refer me to a GI specialist. I was wondering if any of you have taken Nexium longer than 2 months? I'm "slowly" feeling better, and am 5 weeks into the pills. Not sure if I will be completely cured by 2 months.
Going back to my regular doctor Monday to discuss what's next.
I have been on Nexium for 5 years now. I have regular checks/scopes with my GI doctor & the Nexium does help the symptoms but isn't a cure really.
Go buy some aloe vera and take it loyally and you will not need that medication. I speak from experience because I was on one pill, the dr. upped it to two and I went on the Internet and found aloe vera helped. I no longer take that medication and I also know of someone else it has helped.
How much aloe vera? I bought some at Whole Foods and later read to not have anything with added "acid", as it says absorbic acid on their ingredients. So I didn't try that. Then another natural store I found a really good one. I was drinking about 6 ounces a day, then cut it down to about 2, then stopped for a few days, added it back in. I do notice that it makes my face clear! It must be doing something good on the inside!
I read to drink 2-4 ounces a day for the aloe. Also, "when" is a good time in the day?
As to how much aloe vera, I really cannot tell you because I take a capsule, which I found on the Internet. When I first started taking it, I took a bunch of the capsules three times a day. It seemed like overkill, but it certainly did the trick. I took it before breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am no dr., but I do not think you can take too much aloe vera and noticed that it healed that part of my digestive system and felt that all the medication did was numb my system for a short time and was a waste of money. Hope this helps and if you have any more question, please don't hesitate to ask. It makes me sick when I hear all these ads on television for acid reflux because I know they are misleading the public and are just money makers for the medical profession. Now, that is not applicable to all medications because some are definitely needed. Oh, the capsule I take has a very, very strong concentration of aloe vera in it. I think aloe vera heals that adhesion in your digestive system.

I just reread your note. Any pure aloe vera will NOT have any ascorbic acid in it. That is false advertising.
