Dexilant??

Hi..
I am wondering if anyone has taken Dexilant? My Dr just prescribed it for me because I was having weird side effects of the Prilosec OTC. I am really nervous about the side effects.
Any response would be greatly appreciated!

Here's to Health!!
B.

Re: Dexilant??

I've been on Dexilant (formally Kapidex) since it came out. I've found that everyone had a PPI that works better for them than others and that it differs from person to person for which one works best.

I had some major side effects with another popular PPI, but have found great success with the Dexilant. If you are going the PPI route, I'd recommend trying it. As with all PPI's you should give it about a month before deciding if it is going to work for you or not.

Re: Dexilant??

I honestly found that Dexilant did less for me than Prilosec! Didn't notice any side effects. Many many people find that it helps, though.

Try it and see what happens. It's a different chemical than Prilosec, so you might be spared the side effects that bothered you before.

Re: Dexilant??

Hi, I've been diagnosed with LPR since Jan. I was on 40mg of Prilosec 2x a day which did nothing. My ENT switched me to Dexilant 60mg and there was a good amount of improvement for me. I have had no side effects with it. It helped with the hoarseness and mucus but it did not help with the sore throat.

Re: Dexilant??

I've tried Omeprazole , Nexium, Prevacid, Tecta and now Dexilent. Found it seems to agree with me the best, really no side effects. It doesn't eliminate my reflux but neither did the others. It seems to work the best for me.
