| zegerid worked... almost
Hello, fellow sufferers! I was first diagnosed with reflux when I was a teen and took meds for years that controlled things just fine, but about a year ago, the Prilosec OTC that I'd taken for about 10 years, quit working. I ended up with a bad case of gastritis and out of control reflux. I changed my diet, and lost about 20 pounds--I'm a small person anyway so that brought me down to about 98 lbs. Doctors prescribed Dexilant 60 mg. 2xs a day which did not help at all. I also tried some other combos of Dexilant and H2 blockers--none of which helped. I decided to try 20 mg. Zegrerid OTC on my own and surprisingly, it has worked wonders for the gastritis, but the pain in my upper esophagus and throat persist--I can even see blisters back there caused by acid backsplash. Does anyone have any advice on a drug I could take along with the Zegerid that might help with these upper esophagus/throat/voice issues? I've tried Pepcid in the afternoon and that has not worked, but I'm thinking of trying maybe another ppi like Prevacid along with the Zegerid, but I'm not sure. I can't take 2 Zegerid because of the sodium it contains. Along with many of you, I'm slowly losing my mind with all of this! Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
